Comprehensive Treatment Results
Following are examples of a cases just to show how treatment is individualised to each patient's personal needs and preferences:
Case 1 : Patient aged 29
Patient's request: I made a mistake trying to save money. "Please give back
my nice smile".
This patient had 6 veneers completed abroad about three years before (Lower left
hand Collumn). On removal of these veneers excessive secondary decay was
uncovered resulting in full Zirconia crown coverage (No metal) - Right hand
Collumn). Dentists should ensure proper bonding when fitting veneers and crowns
to prevent future decay. Notice the extent of the damage:
The following pictures are snapshots before and after treatment of this patient:

Quality veneers could last a lifetime. However, you should be aware that veneers require specific protocols to be strictly adhered to by the dentist when preparing the tooth and when fitting them. Cheap veneers (see top left hand column) usually do not last long and, as in this case, likely need replacement soon. It is seldom worth the effort to opt for cheap alternatives or having specialised dentistry completed abroad just to save money. It may cost you more later.
Case 2 : Age 78
This lady came to see us after treatment was completed on her
husband. Her request was quite different, unique and very specific: I want my
teeth straightened, but please, I do not want to have the same "perfect" looking
teeth than those you have completed on my husband. He is absolutely stunned and
pleased with the result, but I want nobody to even notice that I had just
undergone excessive dental treatment. Make the crowns look the same as the rest
of my teeth. I know my teeth are discoloured, but this is how I want it – it
should look natural.
The case was done in two phases. First of all the crowded teeth were addressed.
The lower lateral incisor was removed and an Invisalign treatment course started
to eliminate the crowding and align the teeth. The patient agreed to have crowns
completed to restore some of the front teeth and make them appear authentic
(untouched). This means that shade (colour) and anatomy (shape) should conform
and blend in with the rest of the adjacent teeth.
Although this may not be the choice of many other patients, this example shows how treatment can be individualise to accommodate every extraordinary request. Needless to say, the patient was delighted with her result. Her closest friends did not notice (of course she is telling them all about it) and her dentist friend was equally impressed.

The patient was delighted as seen from her letter :
It's never too late!
For over 60 years I have had overcrowded, crooked teeth and a misaligned jaw. I was embarrassed at the state of my mouth. Then I met Dr Tromp. He produced a carefully explained treatment plan but noted my priorities. Although apprehensive I agreed to go ahead. After extensive treatment to repair past damage, I started on a long course with Invisalign. I have worn the invisible plastic liners for 3 years. At first it was difficult, sometimes I felt like giving up, but it soon became a way of life, removing them for each meal and new ones every two weeks. Now I have straight teeth and a corrected jaw. I feel good and look good. I'm glad I persevered. A big thank you to Dr Tromp and to his friendly and supportive staff.
Case 3 : Aged 49
Patient's request: Please correct my smile. Nowadays I seldom smile. I do not want to have my teeth whitened. The crown and bridgework should look natural and blend in well with the rest of my teeth retaining their cuurent shade. My closest friends shouldn't notice.

Case 4 :
The following patient seemed quite in despair. The dentition were unfortunately beyond repair and gum disease in an advanced stage. The options were either a full denture or crown and bridgework on implants after removal of all teeth. She opted for the former.

This patient wrote as follows:
Dear Dr Tromp,
I thought it appropriate that I write to you (as previously mentioned) to let
you know that the extensive dental treatment I had done a short while ago has
proved to be a ‘god-send'. It was all too obvious that my teeth/gums were in a
very bad state before starting the treatment.
The work done by you has transformed my mouth (and my life in many ways). I now
have my smile and confidence back thanks to your expertise.
Keep up the good work - and may many other people benefit from your skills.
A sincere thank you.
